Summerland Sweets 7.4/3.2K Trail Race - (Sept 2026)

Date/Time:
Sunday, September 2026 (7.4 km begins at 10:00 AM and 3.2 km shortly afterwards) -- Race Number pickup starts at 8:30AM
Location:
Summerland Rodeo Grounds (Summerland, BC)
Directions: From Highway 97 in Summerland, head west on Prairie Valley Road (Dairy Queen & Tim Hortons at intersection). Take the last exit on the roundabout, up the hill to the next roundabout, and continue westward on Prairie Valley Road. At Doherty Avenue turn right and then left onto Bathville Road. You'll see the signs for the KVR train station and the Rodeo grounds and turn left into the rodeo grounds.

Parking Instructions:
  • Parking is available at the Rodeo Grounds, in close proximity to the washrooms.
  • Please no parking at the start/finish line. This space becomes too congested.
Distance:
  • Long Course: 7.4 km (95 meters elevation gain)
  • Short Course: 3.2 km
Route:
  • Courses for the 7.4K and 3.2K races consist of recreational and single track trails.

Notes:
  • There are washrooms at the start and medical support on site.
  • Refreshments, awards and draw prizes after the races.
  • For the 7.4K racers there will be a draw for a pair of New Balance shoes at the end of the race as well as draw prizes courtesy of the Starting Block in Vernon.
  • First prize in each category 19+ in the 7.4K race is a bottle of fruit wine from Sleeping Giant Fruit Winery. Jam and syrup are the prizes for the 3.2 Fun Run race and for the younger categories in the 7.4K race.
  • Donuts and Apples will be provided after the race.
  • No aid stations.
  • No dogs (on and off leash) will be allowed! Runners with dogs will be disqualified. This is a safety issue that is a non-negotiable.

Established in 1981, the Penticton Pounders Running Club's mandate is to assist and encourage interested members of the community to good health and fitness through running. We host weekly runs, several races (road and trail), as well as a number of social events.
